Morticia's Dilemma is the fourteenth episode of the second season of the original series of The Addams Family, and the forty-eighth overall episode of the series. It first aired 17 December 1965 on ABC.

Summary[]

There's a letter for Gomez from Pamplona, Spain. An old family friend, Don Xavier Francisco de la Mancha Molinas, is coming to visit. Don Xavier's daughter, Consuella de la Mancha Molinas, thinks she is marrying Gomez because Don Xavier and Gomez' grandfather arranged the marriage when they were children, but Gomez does not remember this. They arrive with her Duenna, and Morticia misunderstands and thinks Gomez is building up a harem. She goes to Cousin Itt's Bedroom to ask him for advice but decides to use psychology. Gomez hires flamenco dancer Señor Cardona to entertain his guests, and the dancer and Consuella fall for one another instantly. Gomez is still oblivious to everything until Don Xavier proposes a toast to his future son-in-law. Gomez explains that he is already married to Morticia. Don Xavier is insulted and challenges Gomez to a duel. During the fight, Thing prevents Don Xavier from shooting Gomez, and Gomez accidentally brings the chandelier down on Cardona. Consuella is upset and announces that she's going to marry the dancer. Everything is resolved, and everyone is happy once more.
