Granny, the Happy Medium is the fourth episode of the second season and the 56th overall episode of The New Addams Family. It is a loose remake of the original television series episode "Halloween - Addams Style".
Summary[]
Wednesday is assigned a school project on an influential relative. She asks Grandmama to summon Great-Aunt Esther in a seance. Always one letter off, Grandmama accidentally summons up the ghost of her brother Jester, who was a habitual practical joker. He pulls his pranks on everyone, even sabotaging Gomez' Trainwreck. His antics soon wear thin, but the family has trouble evicting him.

- Maxwell Briggs, the mailman who has been stuck in the mansion's vines for thirty years, is a reference to the mailman who was played by Rolfe Sedan in the original show.
- The Ghost Toasters are based on the Ghostbusters from the 1984 motion picture of the same name. Before the Addams family hires them, Fester asks aloud, "Who ya gonna call?" and a pastiche of Ray Parker Jr.'s theme tune is briefly heard when they first appear.
