Tully Alford is one of the two main antagonists in the 1991 film The Addams Family, along with Abigail Craven.
Biography[]
Tully Alford served as the Addams family's lawyer. The Addams family was well aware that Tully was a deadbeat and a crook, but they found these traits of Tully to be endearing.
In the beginning of the film, he owed money to a loan shark named Abigail Craven, who had her son Gordon torture him. Tully, seeing that Gordon looks just like Fester Addams, Gomez's missing brother, proposes to Abigail that she have Gordon pose as Uncle Fester so that they can steal the Addams fortune as a way for him to pay off the debts he owed her.
In order to access the Addams family fortune, Tully convinced Judge Womack to grant the mansion to Uncle Fester and issue a thousand-yard restraining order on the rest of the Addams family.
Abigail and Tully's ultimate fates are unknown; when Uncle Fester unleashes a hurricane in the Addams mansion's library, she and Tully are thrown out a window, landing from about fifty feet in two open caskets with their names marked on them in the Addams cemetery, which Wednesday and Pugsley then bury. Pugsley asks if they are dead, and Wednesday counters, "Does it matter?" leaving it unclear whether or not Tully died prior to being buried.
After Tully's ultimate fate and presumed death, his wife (and presumed widow), Margaret Alford, remarried to Cousin Itt.
He also often confronted Gomez in swordfighting, always losing. He never liked the Addamses and considered them morons, and he uneasily tortured Morticia on a torture wheel, stretching her arms, during his and Abigail's penultimate attempt to seize the Addams fortune, though Morticia enjoyed this.

He wants the Addams fortune to pay off his many debts to Abigail Craven, but also because of his own personal greed.
Despite his crookedness, Tully admits he can't stand torture as it makes him queasy, but he reluctantly agrees to help torture Morticia when Abigail presses him.
